Michael Oppenheimer Represents Families in California Conjugal Visit Homicides

Attorney Michael Oppenheimer is representing the families of two California women, Tonya Thomas and Stephanie Dowells. They were killed by their partners during private conjugal visits at Mule Creek State Prison.

The families are suing the California Department of Corrections for wrongful death. Their lawsuit claims that the deaths, which occurred earlier this year, were preventable and poor safety measures caused the incidents. The partners of both women were already serving time for previous murder convictions and allegedly strangled the victims.

The firm is demanding that the state prison system and all its staff take full responsibility. At a recent news conference, Attorney Oppenheimer said:

“They are demanding accountability for the state prison system. The warden and everybody associated with this prison system, including the guards who allowed two women who went to see their husbands to get murdered for absolutely no reason.”

The lawsuit claims the prison did not properly supervise the visits and may have tried to cover up the first death. The case raises serious questions about the prison’s duty to protect visitors from violent inmates. It also highlights major problems in the state’s prison system and has led to calls for new laws.

This case is still developing, and there has not yet been any legal decision. The Oppenheimer Firm is committed to getting justice for Tonya Thomas and Stephanie Dowells. This article will be updated when the case has concluded.
